The Place

The Land

This 5000 SF adobe home sits on two acres adjacent to the Corrales Bosque Preserve. As you drive down the lane to the property, you will immediately notice a beautiful landscape of cottonwood trees.  As you continue onto the property, you will be greeted by a field of white flowers named Yerba Mansa (in the summer) and vegetable and flower gardens. The heated pool is open from May until October and is ideally situated near shade trees so you can relax from the sun. Regardless of the season, you will enjoy the many places to sit and enjoy nature.

The Home

The home is made from adobe (see the video below).  The architecture is a pueblo revival style, a uniquely American architecture style. It retains heat in the winter and cool temperatures in the summer. The lovely brick floors are set on sand, a step up from the historical dirt base. Soft, rounded walls can be seen throughout. The home is luxurious, with New Mexican vigas, latillas, portals, and plaster walls in the old tradition. There is just something special about sleeping in a home constructed from adobe.

The People

We opened for business in June of 2018 after a year of renovation. It has been a labor of love and a wonderful family collaboration.

John, now retired from Commercial Real Estate, has a gift for cooking and is a theologian at heart. He is our secret hospitality agent.

Carrol is a professional Interior Designer. Morning Star was born out of her passion to create a well-designed boutique bed and breakfast that encompasses New Mexico culture, comfort, hospitality, and luxury.

We have been longtime residents of Corrales, having raised four children in this beautiful community. We hope that during your stay, you will feel embraced, rested, and inspired.

We look forward to serving you!
